Sandy and I travelled to Fred and Margaret Buller's following a day's cod fishing, and as ever we were treated to a warm welcome. We had arrived to get the book blocks for 'Recollections I' signed before they are gold edged and bound. As there are only 50 being made in total, there is no possibility of an extra being bound later should a book get damaged, so Sandy is leaving nothing to chance. We took the blocks to be signed by Fred (sadly, Fred J is no longer with us to co-sign the work) although Fred Buller wasn't allowed to see inside the book as there are a few surprises for him when he receives his Heritage copy in January.
Also there was Ted Andrews, a highly talented artist who has drawn four cartoons of humorous moments mentioned in the text. In the deluxe edition, Ted has signed each artwork which the purchasers are sure to enjoy.
What should have been a quick job ended up being a stay of several hours. They are both such good company and interesting people. The day ended as a celebration with everyone raising a glass to commemorate the completion of Sandy's work before we travelled to Ludlow to deliver the books to the binders in person.
