Nobody has attempted to present a book showing the quality of split cane rods before which is quite understandable as they are notoriously difficult to photograph. However David Petty, an avid rod collector of many years has got together with Dave Watson who has taken the most superb photographs of classic rods manufactured by the famous (and some should be famous) rod manufacturers. Many will already have seen the quality of the photographs in John Drewitt's work on Hardy reels and this book maintains, or even surpasses that standard.
This high quality has followed through into the book production where excellent quality paper has been used to ensure the images are bright and crisp.
I love rods having collected many over the years, and indeed used many featured in this work and doubted I would see a work of this quality, and it will now join the treasures in my bookcase.
If you love cane rods, this is a must have book featuring most of the classic models manufactured down the years. If you haven't used a cane rod, one sight of this book will send you heading to the local tackle auction. It is fabulous.
