Hardy "No.2 AHE Wood" Cane Fly Rod

This is a 12' three piece built cane fly rod manufactured by Hardy's of Alnwick, probably the premier rod company in the world when this was made. The rod is the No.2 A H E Wood, named after the man who made greased line fishing for salmon as famous as it is today.

The rod comes in its original bag and has agate butt and tip rings, bridge rings elsewhere and the usual Hardy Lockfast joints and 'W' reel fitting.  The butt cap is brass with usual stamps, but could do with polishing.  The rod is in very good condition, original throughout and would suit the collector as an exhibit, of for use if you have sturdy wrists.

The Serial No. is E20233 dating the rod to 1930
