Interesting pictures which tell a story. Today I fished Stevenstone with Reg and Graham as we hadn't fished together in recent months and the weather in the morning was great.
We banked on the carp being in the shallower waters as the sun warmed us and fished into the wind in the shallows I was quickly into a carp which snagged my line in the brambles by me feet so securely the line wouldn't run. It left me no choice but to play it by hand-lining to a successful end aided by Graham with the net.
After that, Reg showed he is the better stillwater angler taking nine carp, several rudd and three eels. Graham had the second biggest bag of rudd whereas I came last there but took the most rudd. Sadly our session was cut short by school kids being brought onto the water for adventure training and on such shallow water, the fishing died.
The other sad part is that the wildies we used to catch didn't show but we caught a lot of small carp bearing the appearance of stockies. Shame as this water was different and one of the few stillwaters I enjoyed fishing.
