Sandy and Charles Inniss have worked round the clock to get his book "Torridge Reflections" ready for the start of October. It covers the history of the Half Moon Inn at Sheepwash and the Torridge over his family's tenure of the Inn, one of the most renowned inns on the Torridge, famed for salmon and sea trout fishing.
Charles recounts his life, people he has met along the way, both in the village and the inn together with the ups and downs of the river. This covers abstraction, pollution, over netting o the current day and signs of improvement, and some big fish to over 37lb and large catches taken over the years.
Charles, who managed the fishery, has many tales of events, frequently humorous to embellish his first book which is also lavishly illustrated throughout with photographs and is surely destined to become the classic work about the river.
As the photographs show, Charles couldn't have been more delighted to see his labour of love finally transformed into a superb leather-bound volume.
