As we have had a warm spell, Graham and I decided to try for bass of Crow Point. I had purchased a couple of floating popper-style plugs hoping for a better fish or two, as well as taking my bubble float and plastic lures. graham stuch to his weighted flies. one a dropper and the other on the point fly fishing.
We were surprised walking across the pools just before low tide to not see a fish at all. It proved hard work to catch anything; Graham managed only 4 on a pair of weighted flies, but my surface lures just didn't work. I borrowed a weighted fly to help sink a small lure and managed one bass, a tiny one at that - on the fly!!
I guess they may need a couple of weeks to get the shallows warmer and more full of food.
